01.07.11 Under 17's Presentation evening.
AFC Emley under 17's held their end of season presentation evening at the Sports Bar on Friday evening. The event was hosted by Steve Lavington the team manager who gave a detailed speech describing the ups and downs of the season gone before handing out individual awards to each squad member.
Following this the main awards were announced with the winners as follows:
Player of the Year: Daniel Pitt
Players Player of the Year: Oliver Ghee
Most Improved Player: Rob Elms
Clubman of the Year: Ryan Charlesworth and Tom Cumiskey.
Following the awards first team manager Darren Hepworth spoke of his desire to build stronger links between the senior and junior set ups. The juniors had their first taste of the senior set up on Thursday when they trained with the first team for the first time and it is our intention to continue this integration between the two sections.
Two members of the current first team squad; Josh Ingham and Nick Reid played under Lavington as juniors and it is hoped that this will continue into the future.
In the long term the club hopes to build a junior set up with players in all age groups. This of course requires the assistance of volunteers so if anybody is interested in helping out with establishing this please get in touch.
AFC Emley currently run an under 17's side.
