Emley Face Litherland in FA Vase

By Ian Mason

AFC Emley will be at home against the North West Counties team

AFC Emley have drawn Litherland REMYCA from Liverpool in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase. The match will be played at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground around the 1st September. The date will be finalised later to fit in with the cricket.

Litherland gained promotion to the Premier Division of the North West Counties League after finishing runners-up in Division One last season. They will provide tough opposition for Emley, who if they progress will travel to Bacup Borough, also from the North West Counties League, but in Division One North. That tie will be played on 15th September.

The FA Youth Cup first qualifying round has also been drawn. In that the Under 19s will host Sheffield FC in the week commencing 17th September. Emley got a bye in the Preliminary round.
